Welcome back to your local calendar!
Whether you’re local to the Palm Springs area or just planning your vacation, there’s plenty going on in the Coachella Valley in the early spring, and we’re here to help you pick out your hotspots and dream locations. You may (and probably will) run into us along the way; and trust me, you’ll never be bored again!
Week of March 19th- 25th, 2017
Sunday, March 19th: Grab a cup of Koffi as a great way to kick off your week. Koffi is, in a sense, what started this whole adventure; so of course Micaylee and I have a soft spot for this yummy little coffee-and-tea shop. What do we order? It changes on a daily basis, but you can bet it’s something with almond milk. My sisters absolutely enjoy the white-mocha freeze. Not only are there delicious coffees and teas, but delicious pastries and gluten free options as well. There are three different locations: two in Palm Springs, one in Rancho Mirage, and you just can’t go wrong.
Monday, March 20th: How about a free art exhibition? Specializing this month in the works of Eduardo Carriazo, Colliding Worlds Fine Art Gallery in Cathedral City presents a beautiful exhibition where you interact with the art.
Tuesday, March 21st: If you’re looking to knock something off of your bucket list, why not ride a camel at The Living Desert? In fact, why don’t you just go ride a camel, and enjoy learning about the home and habitat of our desert creatures? So many of my favorite child-hood memories were based at this specialty zoo, and now is the time to go! Learn more here!
Wednesday, March 22nd: For those interested in the culinary art, Mr. Lyons Steakhouse is offering a Lunch and Learn Cooking Demonstration. Located in Palm Springs, head chef Tara Lazar will not only be preparing lunch, she will also be sending you home with recipes so you can remake these tasteful meals again and again. Order tickets ahead of time, as they will go fast, and click here for more info.
Thursday, March 23rd: El Paseo Fashion Week continues until March 25th! In case you missed it last Sunday, one of my personal favorite events of the year, this is a red-carpet front seat to some of the most incredible local and international designers. This is the 12th anniversary of this show, and you won’t want to miss it. Click here for more information.
Friday, March 24th: Get out and enjoy the day on one of our favorite local hikes: Tahquitz Canyon Trail. Located up Ramon and off Taquitz Palm Springs, this jaunt is not as strenuous as a hike, not as tame as a walk, and is absolutely incredible this time of year as the snow melts down the mountain, creating a lush, green trail with a waterfall. Click here for a map and address- and don’t forget your water!
Saturday, March 25th: Mary Bridget Davies is going live at The Copa in Palm Springs this evening at 8pm. As a Tony Award nominee for her performance in A Night with Janice Joplin, Ms. Davies brings her incredible talent to an intimate atmosphere. Find tickets, info, and more here.
